that will be all…. scootie
So here I am, all packed up and ready to go. It’s been an insane week. Having over 190 soles stolen from me by my host family, getting kicked out of their house and moving to basically a mansion for my last few days, eating dinner and realizing it wasn’t tofu, it was cow stomach… and it’s all coming to an end. I’ve wanted to study abroad since I can remember and well, this was it.
Looking back on these days, here are a few things I will not miss:
- not being able to flush toilet paper
- being harassed by street vendors
- literally holding on for my life during every car ride
- not having a reliable public transportation system
But, the list of things that I will miss is much longer:
- Katie Azzara
- Diana Hess
- Ashley Pierce (I don’t care if we go to the same school, I won’t be seeing you in South America so it’s not that same!)
- ISA Lima kids
- ISA Argentina kids (gone but not forgotten :P)
- the food
- manjar blanco/dulce de leche
- being considered exotic because I have blonde hair
- being able to buy booze in super markets
- being able to buy booze in gas stations
- being able to buy booze in general
- being able to talk very loudly about inappropriate things in public because no one understands me
- the catcalls from taxi drivers and policemen
- the cheap ass shit
- and generally being on a very extended vacation
Sigh. This is the longest tumblr post I’ve ever written and probably will ever write. It still hasn’t hit me yet that I’m flying home, that I’m going to the airport in thirty minutes. I’m so excited to come home and see all my friends and family that I’ve missed these past four months… but I’m also really sad to close this chapter of my life and start another. I’m actually kind of scared about it… pero, según al Ol’ Blue Eyes, “The Best is Yet to Come.”
Bring it on, world. ;)
brilliant.
checked my monedero and ANOTHER 20 bill is missing. Shit is going down at the host fam’s house tonight. No one steals 190 soles from me and gets away with it. I want my money back, you hijos de putas.
does money keep disappearing from my wallet. i’m pretty sure there is no such thing as a kleptomaniac ghost, so WHAT THE FUCK.
Melanie and Kayla are becoming mini-celebrities in NYC! I’m so proud lol. Read this and this for more news about them.
beaut.

FINALLY!!! nose piercing part two :D
